Meta-analysis of gene expression in the mouse liver reveals biomarkers associated with inflammation increased early during aging

► A meta-analysis was conducted on aging mouse liver gene expression profiles. ► Little overlap across studies in number of genes or canonical pathways perturbed. ► Forty three genes were altered during aging in three or four of the studies. ► Genes unique to aging included those linked to tertiary lymphoid neogenesis.
