Verständnis und Behandlung der Depression aus Sicht der Chinesischen Medizin

Depression represents one of the most common mental disorders, but there is still no satisfactory medical cure available for it today. Treatment by psychotherapy seems better suited in the long run, although a high percentage of relapses remains. For this reason, it appears worthwhile to examine the therapeutic approaches of Chinese medicine regarding the possibility of contributing - in combination with the above - to a successful therapy of depression disorders. For this purpose, however, it is necessary to preliminarily describe the Chinese concepts of this kind of mental disharmonies, and to examine in which way they can be applied to the manifestations of depression in western patients.
