ZusammenfassungBei einer 37-jährigen Patientin mit PCP der Hände und Schultergelenke gelingt es, mittels der japanischen Kampo-Phytotherapie die Beschwerden so weit zu verringern, dass auf die Einnahme von NSAR verzichtet werden kann. Auch die klinische Symptomatik bessert sich unter der Therapie mit dem so genannten “Dienstmädchen-Dekokt mit Atractylodis” bzw. im weiteren Verlauf mit dem “Hiobstränensamen-Dekokt”. Die Anpassung der Therapie (Wechsel der Rezeptur) an die Veränderungen des Krankheitsbildes im Verlaufe der Behandlung stellt ein typisches Merkmal der konstitutionellen Kampo-Therapie dar.

A 37 year old lady with PCP was treated with Japanese Kampo-Phytotherapy. Under Kampo therapy the patient's pain could be controlled and she was not dependent on antiinflammatory/antirheumatic drugs as before. The symptomatology of the disease improved as well during the application of the so-called “Maidservant from Yue Decoction plus Atractylodis” and later on with the “Coicis Decoction”. This case shows a very characteristic feature of Kampo: the adaptation of the prescription during the treatment according to the changes of the clinical picture.
