Gemeinsame ärztlich-zahnärztliche Diagnostik und Therapie von Erkrankungen des Cranio-Mandibulären Systems (CMS)

ZusammenfassungHintergrundDie Cranio-Mandibuläre Dysfunktion kann über gesundheitliche Probleme im oral- und HNO-Bereich hinaus zu einer Reihe von orthopädischen Störungen führen: die Cranio-Cervikale oder Cranio-Sacrale Dysfunktion.ZielsetzungenEs ging darum, 1. ein abgestuftes diagnostisches interdisziplinäres Test-Instrument zur Sicherung der Diagnose einer Cranio-Mandibulären-Dysfunktion weiter zu entwickeln, 2. bei Vorhandensein einer CMD und gleichzeitigen Wirbelsäulenproblemen interdisziplinäre Behandlungskonzepte (orthopädisch und neurologisch) zu ermöglichen.MethodeSeit dem Jahr 2003 wurden ca. 300 Patienten vom Verfasser und von mehreren ärztlichen Dozenten der DGfAN (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Akupunktur und Neuraltherapie) nach einem Schema von fünf Gesichtspunkten untersucht: Okklusion und Artikulation, Parafunktion, Mundöffnungsbewegung, Kiefergelenkbefund, Muskelpalpation.ErgebnisEs wurde ein Screening-Test mit einem Bewertungsschema entwickelt, das abgestuft gezielte zahnärztliche, orthopädische oder neurologische Interventionen ermöglicht.Diskussion/SchlussfolgerungDieser Screening-Test wird seit drei Jahren in der DGfAN gelehrt und praktiziert. Er hat sich in der Therapie von hunderten Patienten bewährt.

BackgroundThe Cranio-Mandible Dysfunction may cause problems of the ear-nose-throat-area as well as orthopedic problems: the Cranio-Cervical Dysfunction and the Cranio-Sacral Dysfunction.ObjectivesTo develop a diagnostic instrument of the CMD, and further, in the case of CMD and simultaneously problems of the spine, to open up interdisciplinary cooperation, especially with the fields of orthopaedics and neurology.MethodSince the year 2003 300 patients were investigated according to a frame of five investigative procedures: occlusion und articulation, parafunctions, proceedings of the opening of the mouth, investigation of the jaw-joint and palpation of muscular structures.ResultsA screening-test was developed which allows differential diagnoses as to whether dental, orthopaedic or neurological problems are involved.Discussion/ConclusionThis screening-test is being taught in the lectures of DGfAN and is widely used. It has proven its reliability in hundreds of patients.
