La maladie de Mondor du sein

Mondor's disease is a rare thrombophlebitis involving superficial veins. Fewer than 400 cases have been reported so far. The diagnosis is essentially based on physical examination; complementary examinations have no specificity at all. Fifty percent of the cases have no known cause. Spontaneous evolution is always favorable and relapses are possible in 5 % of cases. The relationship with breast cancer is between 1.8 to 12.4 %; so a routine mammography is always advisable to look for a possible underlying breast neoplasia. This article presents a new case report of a Mondor's disease in a post-partum parous woman and a review of literature concerning the clinical features, and the causes of this disease.
