Imagerie des pathologies gynécologiques de l'adolescente

The most common pathologies diagnosed during adolescence are functional and neoplastic ovarian diseases, endometriosis and Mullerian duct anomalies. The presence or absence of sexual intercourse is a major event in adolescent women. After sexual intercourse, gestational and infectious diseases should be added to the previous list. When possible, transvaginal ultrasonography represents the first-line imaging technique to evaluate all these diseases. Depending on clinical setting, MR imaging or computed tomography in addition to biological markers (hyperandrogenemia, specific tumoral markers) should be added allowing the best treatment planning, ovarian preservation being essential during adolescence.
