Louis Mourier, un service pionnier

RésuméNommée agrégée de psychiatrie chez Jean Delay à Sainte-Anne en 1968, il est alors proposé à Thérèse Lempérière d’être chef de service dans un nouvel hôpital de l’Assistance Publique qui ouvre ses portes à Colombes. Elle accepte, en venant à Louis-Mourier en novembre 1971, d’être responsable du premier service de psychiatrie sectorisé ouvert en hôpital général. Elle permet que la psychiatrie soit reconnue comme discipline médicale forte. Le service dirigé par Thérèse Lempérière, non pensé pour accueillir les patients psychiatriques, se construit en interaction forte avec les collègues hospitaliers universitaires, et devient l’école de la clinique psychiatrique qui bénéficie à la fois à ses nombreux étudiants et aux patients du secteur.

Thérèse Lempérière was promoted associate professor of Jean Delay at Sainte-Anne in 1968, and she was rapidly asked to be head of department in a new hospital in the “Assistance Publique” constructed in Colombes. She accepted and came to Louis-Mourier hospital in November 1971. She then headed the first psychiatric sectored opened department in a general hospital. She allowed psychiatry to be recognized as a high medical discipline. This psychiatric department was not designed to accommodate psychiatric patients and was built in close interaction with university hospital colleagues, it became the school of the clinical psychiatry that benefits both students and the many sectored patients.
