Robots émotionnels pour les personnes souffrant de maladie d'Alzheimer en institution

Different types of robots (rehabilitation, services and companionship) have been developed or under development for the care of the elderly. This literature review focuses on companion robots, which are designed to interact with humans. This type of robot can evoke positive emotions, such as joy, tenderness and curiosity in people. Studies have shown the utility of this kind of robot as an alternative effective nonpharmacological intervention in people with dementia. These robots can facilitate communication and social interaction, enhance well-being and decrease behavioral disorders. The indications, limits and ethical issues are discussed when utilizing these robots in the setting of dementia care.
