Intérêt d'un programme de stimulation cognitive pour des sujets âgés présentant un « mild cognitive impairment »

Cognitive stimulation intervention appears to be an effective non pharmacological treatment in elderly persons with mild cognitive impairment. Recent studies have demonstrated the impact of such an intervention on cognitive performances, especially on mnesic and executive scores of old patients with cognitive impairment but no dementia. Moreover, cognitive stimulation is a relevant tool for the assessment of cognitive reserve abilities and the follow-up of patients with MCI at high risk of conversion to dementia. Cognitive stimulation intervention is both a valuable therapeutic and prognostic tool for elders with MCI.
