SummaryMore common than we say and more devastating than we think, premature ejaculation (PE) is an under-treated sexual dysfunction because it is subject to shame and stigmatization, besides a lack of information about treatment options for patients and medical staffs, and an insufficient consideration for the partner. Furthermore, this disorder is not limited to the sexual field but can affect all areas of life; that's why (because of its direct and collateral damages) it is, in our opinion, a real public health problem. The purpose of this article is to increase awareness of the impact of PE on the quality of life of the individual concerned, his partner, and the couple, in order to better understand this problem as a common and medically manageable disease and to ease the management of it and its collateral damages.
