Authentication of 'Cereza del Jerte' cherry cultivars using real time PCR

► Authentication of “Picota” type sweet cherries using real-time PCR. ► A total of six primer pairs were designed and assessed for real-time PCR. ► The F-AP2/R-AP2 primers differentiated Picota type cherries. ► This method could be used routinely to detect the falsification of Picota cultivars.
