Late Permian-Early Triassic igneous activity in the Attic Cycladic Belt (Attica): New geochronological data and geodynamic implications

► Metagranitoids in Pentelikon, Attic Cycladic Belt, Attica crystallised in successive pulses at 255 ± 3 Ma and 246 ± 2 Ma. ► SHRIMP zircon ages and CL-characteristics reveal Permo-Triassic magmatic activity and Hercynian inheritance. ► SHRIMP zircon data and published work favour a rift setting for metagranitoids in Pentelikon. ► Opposite to previous views, the lower unit of Attica belongs to the Cycladic Blueschist Unit.
