Mechanics of the formation of orthogonal sets of solution seams, and solution seams and veins and parallel solution seams and veins

► Investigated stress distributions around pressure solution seams (PSSs). ► Assemblages: orthogonal PSS sets, orthogonal PSS/vein sets, and parallel PSS/vein sets. ► Evaluated stress, strain, and geometric conditions for formation of three assemblages. ► Showed a wide variety of factors favoring formation of a particular type of assemblage.
