Gas hydrate versus geological features: The South Shetland case study

► We analyse the relations between gas hydrate and syncline-anticline structures. ► At the hinge of the anticline very low or no gas hydrate is present. ► Along the limbs and at the hinge of the syncline abundant gas hydrate is present. ► Relation between fluid circulation, faults, fractures and micro-fractures is analysed. ► The syncline structure is the favoured for gas hydrate accumulation.
