Tectonothermal evolution of the Banded Gneissic Complex in central Rajasthan, NW India: Present status and correlation

► We synthesize magmatic, metamorphic and age data from the BGC of central Rajasthan. ► The BGC records discrete Paleoproterozoic and Early Neoproterozoic events. ► The Paleoproterozoic ones are linked with the formation and dispersal of Columbia. ► The Early Neoproterozoic event is related to a collisional orogeny. ► c. 1.0 Ga orogeny led to the assembly of the Greater Indian Landmass in Rodinia.
