Regolith modeling and its relation to earthquake induced building damage: A remote sensing approach

► Remote sensing based methodology for prediction of regolith thickness (RT) at regional scale. ► DEM derived topographic attributes and geology map for RT prediction. ► Use of remote sensing images and field data for 2005 Kashmir earthquake damage assessment. ► Comparison of predicted RT with damage data reveal increases in damages with increasing RT. ► The predicted RT can be used for seismic microzonation.
