Recent earthquake swarms in Garhwal Himalaya: A precursor to moderate to great earthquakes in the region

► Two earthquake swarms have been studied to look for precursory phenomenon. ► About four evidences have been used to show them to be precursory. ► A preparation zone of 100 × 100 km2 has been demarcated as possible source in future. ► High seismicity areas should earmark swarm activity as precursors for bigger events.
