Un fossile d'oursin préservé sur un nucléus paléolithique (site de plein air de Tercis, Landes, France)

A fossil echinoid preserved on a palaeolithic flint core (Tercis open-air site, near Dax, Landes, France). A flint core collected from the Les Vignes archaeological site (at Tercis, near Dax, Landes, SW France) comprises a silicified internal mould of a Cyclaster (Echinoid, Spatangoid). The nucleus is assumed to be Mousterian and is the single one known from Europe with a fossil echinoid shown off by the Knapper. Flint and fossil of the flint core and from the geological site are compared for documenting the provenance. We speculate about possible interpretations concerning the human Knapper's intention.
