Les NPS en vogue en région Rhône-Alpes : rapport de cas

New psychoactive substances (NPS) have emerged in the last few years in France and Europe. These new molecules, that are structural variations around a known psychoactive moiety, frequently spring on the Internet. Forensic laboratories are asked by law enforcement and the justice department to determine their legal status. In so doing, they face major technical issues. This article describes several cases processed by the Police Forensic Laboratory of Lyon between late 2014 and 2015, in which structural elucidation by nuclear magnetic resonance was deemed necessary and allowed to identify 4-fluoroamphetamine, MDMB-CHMICA, 3-chloromethcathinone and MDMB-FUBINACA. It also portrays a moving market and describes the substance users.
