Volatile organic compounds characterized from grapevine (Vitis vinifera L. cv. Malbec) berries increase at pre-harvest and in response to UV-B radiation

Ten VOCs, including the monoterpenes limonene and geraniol, were identified in grapevine berries by HS-SPME-GC-EIMS. Monoterpenes were increased by UV-B both in in vitro and field conditions. Synthesis of these compounds induced by UV-B may be involved in resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses.
