Crocins transport in Crocus sativus: The long road from a senescent stigma to a newborn corm

During the senescence of C. sativus flowers, changes in the composition of saffron apocarotenoids occurs and transport of crocins from the senescent stigma to the ovaries and the developing corm takes place.
