Phenolic compounds in berries and flowers of a natural hybrid between bilberry and lingonberry (Vaccinium × intermedium Ruthe)

► Hybrid bilberry is a natural hybrid between two commercially important wild berries. ► This work reports first time the content of phenolic compounds in hybrid bilberry berries. ► Comparison is made with the parent species bilberry and lingonberry. ► Hybrid bilberry berries possess a unique and diverse profile of phenolic compounds. ► Hybrid bilberry offers interesting material for breeding purposes.
