► Binding energy and PCS of a two-dimensional pseudopotential QD are investigated. ► Optical properties of this system are studied in the presence of magnetic field. ► Binding energy and PCS are obviously influenced by the magnetic field and external field. ► The dependence of PCS on dot radius is investigated.
