Spectroscopic study on the interaction of Bacillus subtilis α-amylase with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide

► The Fluorescence quenching effect of α-amylase by CTAB is a consequence of formation α-amylase-CTAB complex. ► The α-helical analyzing from the CD spectra in the various concentration of CTAB shows strongly deformation of α-amylase. ► Thermodynamic analysis of quenching verify that the interactions are both enthalpy and entropic driven.
