Thermodynamics of solubility and solvation of N-cetylpyridinium perchlorate and related compounds in water-propanol-2 system

► Low solubility of N-cetylpyridinium perchlorate allows avoiding micelle formation. ► Conductance data allow determining the cation + perchlorate association constants. ► The Gibbs energies of transfer give evidence for the heterosolvation of ions. ► In mixed solvents amphiphilic ions are better solvated than the symmetrical one.
