DABCO entrapped in agar-agar: A heterogeneous gelly catalyst for multi-component synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromenes

► A novel gel entrapped base catalyst (GEBC) has been synthesized by entrapping DABCO in the matrix of agar-agar. ► The catalyst showed excellent activity in the multi-component synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromenes. ► The reaction condition is mild and eco-friendly.
