► Physico-chemical properties of binary mixtures of Aniline and o-anisidine with 2-alkoxyethanols were reported at 303.15 K. ► Heterogeneous type of molecular interaction was identified through hydrogen bonding. ► Different theoretical mixing rules are used to find the standard deviation of experimental refractive index values.
