Molecular interaction study of binary mixtures of methyl benzoate: Viscometric and ultrasonic study

► Viscosity and speed of sound properties of binary liquid mixtures are essential in process simulation, equipment design, solution theory and molecular dynamics. ► Acoustic properties are useful in understanding the molecular interactions. ► All the excess or deviation properties studied in the present research showed deviations from ideal behavior. ► The viscosity models tested in the present study show a good ability to fit the experimental data. ► More interestingly the Jouyban-Acree model gave satisfactorily good results for all the studied binary systems at both the temperatures.
