Protective effect of nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) on the transgenic Drosophila model of Alzheimer's disease

- AD flies were exposed to 20, 40, 60 and 80 μM of NDGA for 30 days.
- NDGA results in an increased life span and delayed the loss of climbing ability.
- NDGA prevents the memory loss and reduced the oxidative stress in the brain of AD flies.
- NDGA did not influence the expression/aggregation of Aβ-42.
