Les effets thérapeutiques de l'animal en EHPAD

For elderly subjects with neurocognitive pathologies, talking therapy on its own is insufficient to provide a soothing and secure environment liable to reduce behavioural disturbances. Considering the cognitive changes brought about by these pathologies, animal-assisted therapy appears as a useful contribution to interaction and communication. This article presents a clinical case evidencing an improvement in behavioural disturbances in an elderly subject as a result of the presence of an animal in the nursing home.
