A novel minicircle vector based system for inhibting the replication and gene expression of Enterovirus 71 and Coxsackievirus A16

► A novel minicircle derived siRNAs were designed to inhibit EV 71 and CA 16 infections. ► siRNAs interfered with viral expression and replication in cells and mice model. ► The minicircle system can be further developed into an effective treatment against HFMD.
