DNA integrity in patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy

► Comet assay was used to determine the DNA damage occurred in the first exposure to hyperbaric oxygen (HBO). ► We use the lymphocytes of 100 patients undergoing the HBO therapy. ► HBO induces the oxidative DNA damage in the first sessions. ► By the consisting of adaptive response the damage decreases to the baseline levels in the later exposures.
