Frame-based, frameless stereotactic, and intraoperative MRI-guided brain needle biopsy techniques have comparable diagnostic yield for patients with no prior treatments (either radiation or surgery). Intraoperative MRI-guided brain biopsy is associated with fewer serious adverse events and shorter hospital stay.
