Study of immunological aspects of aspergillosis in mice and effect of polyene macrolide antibiotic (SJA-95) and IFN-γ: A possible role of IFN-γ as an adjunct in antifungal therapy

► We evaluated the antifungal activity of newely discover polyene macrolide antibiotic (SJA-95) in aspergillosis using incorporated into liposome and combined treatment with IFN-γ. ► Various biochemical parameters viz. colony forming units in liver, spleen, kidney, lung and brain, and serum IgG, and interleukin-4 were determined. ► Our finding confirmed IFN-γ might act as a potent modulator in immune reaction during fungal infection.
