Influence of glutathione S-transferase T1 donor/recipient mismatch and anti-GSTT1 antibodies in hepatic graft-versus-host-disease

► We study GSTT1 donor/recipient mismatch in hematopoietic stem cell transplant. ► Null genotype parous female donors sometimes carry memory B cells against GSTT1. ► After the transplant, anti-GSTT1 ab-production against recipient's ag is triggered. ► GSTT1 mismatch and GSTT1 abs are risk factors for hepatic graft-versus-host-disease. ► GSTT1 is a new minor histocompatibility antigen involved in GVHD.
