Molecular phylogenetic analysis of Anopheles and Cellia subgenus anophelines (Diptera: Culicidae) in temperate and tropical regions of Iran

► We examined rDNA-ITS2 sequences of two main subgenera of Anophelines in tropical and temperate regions of Iran. ► We report for the first time the presence of 30 Anopheles species in Iran. ► Increasing information on the Anopheles species will increase the quality of control and elimination programs.
