A simple method for the parallel deep sequencing of full influenza A genomes

► It is important to monitor the spread and evolution of influenza. ► We performed deep sequencing on nine influenza full genomes from three subtypes using the Illumina GAIIx. ► All genes from all samples had an average depth of 122-fold. ► Depth of coverage is reported and discussed. ► Our study presents a fast and effective method to sequence at least 72 full influenza genomes in one run.
