Heat shock protein 60 from Klebsiella pneumoniae protects mononuclear cells from apoptotic cell death induced by dexamethasone

► We analyzed for first time the anti-apoptotic effect of enterobacterial HSP60. ► Anti-apoptotic effect of HSP60 was observed in the DXM-induced apoptosis in PBMC. ► The same effect of proteins was observed in CD4+ and CD8+ T cell subpopulations. ► This effect requires internalization of HSP60 with cytoskeleton participation.
