The effect of the diterpene 5-epi-icetexone on the cell cycle of Trypanosoma cruzi

► We observed that 5-epiicetexone has multiple effects on cell cycle of T. Cruzi. ► The compound affects the growth of the parasites from 10 hours after removal of HU. Apparently, the compound does not greatly affect the S phase of cell cycle. ► Furthermore, it appears that the compound slows the progression of cell division.
