Detection of anti-oxidant enzymatic activities and purification of glutathione transferases from Angiostrongylus cantonensis

► Anti-oxidant enzymatic activity was demonstrated in excretion/secretion (ES) products of Angiostrongylus cantonensis. ► Catalase and superoxide dismutase activities were found both in the total extract and in ES products while glutathione peroxidase and GST were found only in the total extract. ► The peptides Acgstpep1 and Acgstpep2 are the first reported sequences of glutathione-S-transferases for this parasite.
