Removal of ibuprofen and its transformation products: Experimental and simulation studies

► Influence evaluation of the initial pharmaceutical and biomass concentrations ► Pseudo first-order kinetics and biodegradation rate constants (Kbiol) were proposed. ► Model encompassing both the formation and the degradation of the three TPs was suggested. ► Biodegradation rate constants and individualised yield factors were provided for TPs. ► A satisfactory fit was obtained and the yield factor and Kbiol values were calculated.
