Partitioning of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, alkylphenols, bisphenol A and phthalates in landfill leachates and stormwater

► Method for separation of colloid-bound organic pollutants (OPs) has been developed. ► OPs were frequently detected in dissolved and colloid phases in contaminated waters. ► OPs in contaminated waters are predominately bound to colloids or truly dissolved. ► OPs sorption to colloids are controlled by partition and is well correlated to KOW. ► OPs partitioning, mobility and associated risks have to be re-assessed.
