The interaction between volcanoes and strike-slip, transtensional and transpressional fault zones: Analogue models and natural examples

► Analogue model results are compared with transtensional fault associated volcanoes. ► The natural examples are Basse Terre Island, Lesser Antilles and Maderas, Nicaragua. ► Sigmoid-I fault has transported magma and hydrothermal fluids in Guadeloupe. ► Regional faulting and local volcano spreading have shaped Maderas structure.
