Late Weichselian (fluvio-)aeolian sediments and Holocene drift-sands of the classic type locality in Twente (E Netherlands): a high-resolution dating study using optically stimulated luminescence

► High-resolution optical dating study of the coversand type locality in E Netherlands. ► Four main phases of (fluvio)aeolian sedimentation are distinguished. ► Timing: Late Pleniglacial, pre-Allerød Lateglacial, Late Dryas, and Late Holocene. ► Two phases of fluvial sedimentation and one of aeolian deflation are also recognised. ► Timing: fluvial sedimentation from ∼23 to 20 ka and at ∼16 ka; deflation between ∼16 and 14 ka.
