A review of palaeo-tsunamis for the Christchurch region, New Zealand

► First review of palaeotsunamis for the Christchurch region. ► One possible and six probable Holocene palaeotsunamis are reported. ► Potential local palaeo-sources inc. faults, landslides, gas hydrates and seamounts. ► Potential distant palaeo-sources inc. subduction zones in Central and South America. ► Several new potential palaeo-sources are identified and need further investigation.
