Reconstruction and analysis of the industrial strain Bacillus megaterium WSH002 genome-scale in silico metabolic model

► The first genome-scale metabolic model for Bacillus megaterium was reconstructed and validated. ► A core essential metabolic gene set of B. megaterium consisting 57 genes was predicted. ► Growth promoting mechanism of B. megaterium for Ketogulonicigenium vulgare was investigated by the model and constraint-based methods.
