Bioorganic synthesis, characterization and antioxidant activity of esters of natural phenolics and α-lipoic acid

► Six esters of α-lipoic acid and natural phenolics were synthesized enzymatically. ► Interesting combination of two bioactive components. ► The products had moderate to excellent antioxidant activity. ► Theoretical calculations of molecular properties indicate good bioavailability.
