Kinetic and stoichiometric characterization of a fixed biofilm reactor by pulse respirometry

► A respirometry technique combined with ASM3 model was developed. ► The method was applied to a fixed-bed reactor treating synthetic wastewater. ► A total of 8 kinetic and stoichiometric parameters were retrieved. ► It was concluded that the respirometry method can be applied to fixed-bed reactors. ► It was also concluded that feast/famine cycles favors storage, as previously reported.
