- Luteolin was synthesized in 8 steps and 36% overall yield from naringin.
- Lipase-catalyzed transesterification proceeded regioselectively on C-4′.
- Oxidation provided desired C-3′and C-4′ catechol functionality.
- Diglycoside side chain worked as the protective group on C-7 hydroxy group.
