Electrosynthesis and characterization of an electrochromic material from poly(1,4-bis(3-methylthiophen-2-yl)benzene) and its application in electrochromic device

► A polymer based on 1,4-bis(3-methylthiophen-2-yl)benzene (PBMTB) was electrochemically synthesized. ► The obtained polymer film exhibits three different colors under various voltages. ► The dual type electrochromic device based on PBMTB and PEDOT displayed distinct electrochromism properties.
